Thank you so much Paul, you have been so helpful and reassuring. I will certainly be in contact with you again as I would like your advice on how to manage my liver, and obtain the best care via my GP (i.e. tell him what I want/need). In the meantime, I will pass your message onto my partner - of particular interest is the risk of transmission during intercourse and also the accelerated vaccination course. Thank you once again for all of your help. I hope that one day I will be able to help other HBV patients as you have helped me. Regards,

So often we have found men find it harder to talk about their HBV and the wife does the talking, this one got a good understanding quick and got it through to her partner he is not going to die young, something our liver units just don't have the counselling time to do very often. Also he was parked on a list of stuff with his GP that took no account of his HBV and was not helping at all. Paracetamol long term can kill people with HBV and knee jerk statins thin the blood that controls it. The lady had not been told about the vaccine and was told condoms which is pretty useless when married and past menopause.

The 21 day vaccination is the best way to have your vaccine
