Hello there, I am sorry i haven’t used my real name, although i have used an email address that i have created. My partner was recently diagnosed with hep b infection (chronic), with low infectivity rates. I have found this incredibly hard to deal with, is there a support group for partners living with the disease? many thanks

Poor lady had all the usual problems after googling, really the more people read the nuttier they get. Explained HBV is basically an easy to manage child acquired virus for 300 million people and tears and relief. Pointed out in the UK we have excellent meds that remove it from the blood so hubby will grow old and die in a wheelchair playing rummy with her, more tears, pointed out the vaccine has a test that proves how good her protection is, more tears, and get on with having a family as our excellent HBV maternity services have had 50,000 babies safely already floods of happy tears. It is the isolation of sufferers that causes all these emotions. She had like just about all patients and partners never mentioned HBV to anyone in 6 years.

Hello forum. I had a similar problem. Been with my Chinese girlfriend 2 years in total. Married for 6 months. She seemed very healthy. However, after being 3 months pregnant they discovered she is a hep b virus carrier. I am still shocked and don't know how to deal with it. Thank God, I was vaccinated when I was a child (all 3 shots). I did blood tests, came back clean for me. How do I deal with this? Any support groups in the UK? Does my wife need treatment, and what more tests should she do? If she has a small viral load, does it make things easier? Thanks in advance for your reply.
