Hi,
I'm about to go into a nursing program. I have had Hep B since I was born. My question is how can I get my viral load down to below 1,000 so I can complete my nursing studies and then work in the USA. My current viral load is 60,000. Four years ago my viral load was below 20. However in the past 4 years I've been at college and drank going to parties etc... Over the past 4 years my viral load has fluctuated between 2,000 and 80,000. I think there is a direct correlation between my drinking alcohol and my hep b viral load.
I'm very motivated to get my viral load down to below 1,000 hopefully without anti-viral medication. My plan is to stop drinking, eat well, drink lots of water, get enough sleep, and exercise. Fortunately I am a very healthy person and am height and weight appropriate. What are the chances I can get my viral load down to below 1,000 just by taking care of myself and not drinking alcohol?
Do you think I will need to take an anti-viral medication to achieve and then maintain a viral load below 1,000 which is the CDC recommendation? If so, what medication should I take?
Thanks
mb.
