Hi! I am a student at the University of Pune. I am doing a study on the challenges and needs of people with hepatitis B. This study will help policy planners to know the challenges and needs of people living with hepatitis B for treatment initiation and adherence. I want to interview at least 100 men and 100 women people living with hepatitis B from Pune (as I stay in Pune and I have to go home to home or any place of their convenience for interviewing people). I have worked for 13 years in a hepatitis diagnosis lab in Pune where I interacted with people living with hepatitis B and their challenges, needs and experiences with hepatitis B. Since then I kept my interest and research in hepatitis B. Hepatitis B, challenges, needs, and problems of people living with hepatitis B, are not studied much and every effort is put behind HIV and TB. The study I am doing is very first of its kind study in India and very few in the world, after Australia, USA. Please support me in my efforts to make all stakeholders (associated with caregiving, policymaking, and health care to people living with hepatitis B) aware of the challenges, needs, and experiences of people living with hepatitis B so that people-centric care is established. I request you to please convey this to all people living with hepatitis B you know especially from Pune to participate in this study. Thanking you very much, Yours sincerely, Prasad M.Sc.
