This is the result of someone with an acute HBV infection 12 to 16 weeks into the journey. HBsAg means hep b virus in the blood HBeAg means the part of HBV that replicates indicating a growing infection HBcAb IgM means the immune system is producing anti body soldiers to kill the HBV
With this test it is common to have an ALTs score from 1500 to 2700 this is not awful but actually a mega fight back as the liver revs to like 8000 RPM to attack back producing antibodies.
In this state rest is best and often the bilirubin is up and abnormal giving broken sleep and major night sweats and yellowing of skin and eyes. So in we went with a two litre jug and milk thistle to get rid of the bilirubin problem and get the all important sleep back, then zero alcohol, fried foods and antibiotics and in this case wait for 1 HBeAg to emerge which it did 2 weeks later when tested meaning the bug cant reproduce Then the wait for anti HBs which tested present 3 months later
The key here is NO don't think chance rubbish depressing pitiful maybe stuff, think 95% odds on all adults clear. The 5% who don't are easily accounted for by those who sadly get prescribed anti biotics or drink or swallow lots painkillers all common when a GP just sees a tired fluey depressed off food type patient and many people with HBV will present saying exactly that.
